Home renovations can be a complicated business so here we address the most common questions people ask us.
What type of projects do you work on?
Everything from loft conversions to full home refurbishments. We love taking on big projects and full home transformations - the more creative, the better. We are great at thinking outside the box and tackling challenging spaces in old London buildings.
Other services include home extensions, kitchen renovations, bathroom refurbishments, flooring, and redecorating. For anything else - we may still be able to help or find you a trusted specialist who can.
Which parts of London do you work in?
Knightsbridge, Kensington & Chelsea, Mayfair, Hampstead, and other prime west London locations.
How long does a home renovation usually take?
Every project is different but an average apartment refurbishment project takes between 6-8 months to complete. Of course, a kitchen or bathroom will usually be less time, including the planning. We provide you with an estimated timeframe when we give you a quote.
Will we need to move out while the renovation takes place?
It depends on the project but for full home renovations, it’s usually best to move out. We work with a lot of families who prefer to be away from the disruption and mess while the work is being completed. Whatever you decide, we will always keep you informed of progress.
Do you have your own team of builders and plumbers etc?
Yes - we have a trusted team of professionals that have worked on projects for our most discerning clients. We work with them because we know and trust them to keep our customers happy.
The team includes builders, plumbers, and electricians. We also work very closely with designers, architects, engineers, and surveyors. All work conducted by City Houses is to UK standards and regulation - we also maintain our own high standards above and beyond this.
What if we want to use our own architect or designer?
We understand that you sometimes already have trusted go-to people. We manage the project so our team seamlessly slots in with your trusted partners to get the job done and meet our high standards.
Raffaele (director and founder) will be your first point of contact for all City Houses projects so you have clear and consistent communication throughout. Raffaele takes on the role of project manager to make sure everyone works together and to the schedule as much as possible.
Do you work with property management companies or investors?
We prefer to work directly with homeowners to create their dream homes. Our purpose is not to create beautiful places to sell but to create beautiful homes for people to live in.
